About The Position

As an CAD Technologist, in our Calgary or Edmonton office you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. We are growing our CAD team and looking for a Civil CAD Technologist with 2+ years of experience. We welcome a range of candidates who want to develop their skills and take ownership of quality design work in water resources and civil infrastructure.

Requirements

A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
2+ years of CAD or civil design experience, ideally in consulting.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Interest or experience in water resources, municipal, or environmental projects.
Careful work habits and strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.
Clear, direct communication and a collaborative mindset.
A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.

Responsibilities

Prepare clear, accurate CAD drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Work types include stormwater, erosion and sediment control, municipal infrastructure, river and channel design.
Build surfaces, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors, grading plans, and 3D models from survey data, LiDAR, and field inputs.
Produce plan, profile, and cross-section drawings for design and construction packages.
Interpret survey data, field notes, UAV imagery, and site photography to support design and as-built deliverables.
Complete material take-offs to support quantity and cost estimates.
Perform QA/QC on drawings.
Keep work clean, consistent, and aligned with CAD standards.
Coordinate with engineers, scientists, surveyors, and clients to keep projects moving.
Help improve CAD standards, workflows, and efficiency.
Share knowledge and support junior team members in a practical, team-first way.
