CAD Technician

About The Position

PRICE ELECTRIC is seeking a motivated and innovative CAD Technician to work closely with the Pre-Construction Department, project managers, and field staff to ensure model content meets expectations and timelines. For the right candidate, this position could be a steppingstone for growth and development in the PRICE ELECTRIC pre-construction department.

Requirements

Possess AAS degree in architectural drafting or at least two years of MEP construction experience
Skill in interpreting 2D plans, diagrams and blueprints electronically or hard copy
Understanding of 3-D coordination with other trades
Take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working design documents.
Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Procore, and Bluebeam is a plus

Responsibilities

Utilizing authoring and review software to translate design requirements into usable 2D plans and 3D models for coordination, installation, and fabrication
Retrieving vendor quotes, analyzing for accuracy and providing recommendations to BIM Techs
Adhering to standard design practices and processes
Assisting BIM Techs with itemized tasks using high attention to detail
Meeting scheduled deliverables provided by BIM Techs
Revising drawings and designs based on markups from BIM Techs
Printing documents, plans, and labels for transmittal to third parties
Participating in ongoing professional development to build knowledge and implement updated practices
Checking work for accuracy before next-level review
