About The Position

The CAD Technician I supports the design and development of fiber network buildouts. The role creates and updates CAD drawings, develops route plans and planning profiles, maintains accurate design data, and works with project teams to meet quality and production goals. Candidates must be located in Texas.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Basic Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software and applications.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Katapult, and Google Earth.
Basic Computer Assisted Drawing and Design skills and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other trail point and layer-based drawing applications.

Responsibilities

Draft fiber network designs and maintain accurate records of fiber routes, facilities, and field assets in project-specific design and mapping applications.
Read and understand project specifications, procedures, and requirements as needed.
Develop proficiency in project-specific CAD, GIS, fiber design software, and associated applications.
Develop proficiency in project QA tools and resolve QA errors as required.
Incorporate quality feedback into daily production processes to ensure high-quality work.
Identify problems with source material and communicate with appropriate project team members to help resolve them.
Meet project production targets and quality expectations within 90 days of hire and on an ongoing basis.
Interface with team leads to ensure consistency in project specifications, standards, procedures, and design techniques.
Develop proficiency with assigned hardware and software and participate in applicable training programs.
