About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an CAD Technician/Drafter to join their team. This individual will be performing plan production for civil engineering projects related to Transportation and Public Infrastructure. Westwood has a highly experienced, dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to their clients.

Requirements

• Proficient in specialized civil design applications for AutoCAD software.
• Proficient in other widely used computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office).
• Basic knowledge of computer file directories and use.
• Fundamental understanding of civil engineering plan and profile development for public infrastructure projects, including the ability to interpret, prepare, and coordinate construction plans for roadway, drainage, water, wastewater, and related municipal infrastructure improvements.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• 2-year technical/associates degree or 1+ years of experience as a CAD Technician, Designer, Drafter or equivalent.
• CAD Experience
• Civil Engineering Design Experience

Responsibilities

• Utilizes computer-aided drafting, design software, and various other computer software packages to assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
• Transfers information in numerical, written and sketched, or electronic format from engineering markups and computer files to final plans and maps.
• Visualizes and illustrates concepts or designs in 2 or 3 dimensions.
• Performs tasks under close supervision or from detail procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of construction quantity and cost estimates.
