CTL Engineering is hiring CAD Technicians (AutoCAD) for Civil projects – any experience level. College and Trade School Graduates are encouraged to apply – start a career! We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry. We are looking for CAD Technicians who will play a key role in Civil and Site Design projects for state (SCDOT), county, federal, local and private Clients - including roadway/bridge design, site design for industrial/large commercial projects, mine reclamation, water/wastewater, residential, and municipal utility/infrastructure sectors. This position will use experience while learning new skills to assist clients through our cross-functional team dynamic and company culture. Requirements

Associate degree or Bachelors in Drafting and Design Technology preferred; or High school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing AutoCADD drafting work in a professional setting; or Equivalent education, experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of civil engineering basics including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, and coordinate systems.
Experience developing and working with grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, three-dimensional surfaces, and earthwork volumes for landfills and other large civil design projects.
Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files.
Experience using the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD is required.
Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills.
Ability to perform basic math skills including applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team.
Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment.
Ability to provide status updates independently.
Be quality-minded and client-focused.

Nice To Haves

Experience with stormwater management is a plus.
Experience in Civil3d is preferred.

Responsibilities

Draft, edit, & finalize technical drawings for civil and site design projects
Transfer information from an engineering drawing to a final CAD drawing using appropriate symbols and drafting standards
Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine best approach to complete drawings
Copy detailed plans and drawings and perform non-routine complex drafting assignments
Operate plotter, printer, scanner, and other input/output devices
Proofread CAD drawings for accuracy, format, and grammar
Collaborate to improve CAD standards and efficiencies across the company
Work collaboratively with Engineers and Project Managers to prepare design drawings and details
Review completed work products to ensure quality
