Join Advanced Systems Group as a CAD/Revit Mechanical Designer to help complete best-in-class media, broadcast, and film audiovisual (AV) and systems integration projects from anywhere in the U.S. This fully remote, full-time position (with travel) offers the opportunity to work with industry leaders on innovative, highly technical projects. Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, or a related technical field—or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years producing mechanical CAD drawings for AV, low-voltage, or systems integration projects
- Mastery of AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and related documentation tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sharp attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to thrive remotely
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and structured cabling infrastructure
- Familiarity with construction and installation documentation standards
- Experience collaborating in fast-paced, fully remote teams
Responsibilities
- Participate in virtual design and coordination meetings, supporting projects from concept through completion.
- Create and update highly accurate CAD/Revit drawings and design deliverables (2D and 3D) including: Mechanical schematics, Line and single-line diagrams, Rack elevations, Room layouts and routing plans
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and implementation teams to confirm project details and document: Building and room layouts, Cable conveyance paths (conduit, tray, raised floor), Power requirements and infrastructure, Plenum and non-plenum spaces, Signal and transport formats (e.g., 3G, 12G, IP-based systems)
- Apply ASG’s drafting standards, cable color codes, labeling, and documentation best practices.
- Assist with creating and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Conduct quality reviews of designs to catch and correct discrepancies before installation.
- Produce installation-ready wire lists, cable pull sheets, and final design packages for multiple teams.
- Maintain red-line changes and incorporate field updates to ensure design accuracy.
- Support engineering and integration teams, providing solutions to design-related questions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all design documentation upholds ASG standards and industry best practices.
