Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, or a related technical field—or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years producing mechanical CAD drawings for AV, low-voltage, or systems integration projects
  • Mastery of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and related documentation tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sharp attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to thrive remotely

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and structured cabling infrastructure
  • Familiarity with construction and installation documentation standards
  • Experience collaborating in fast-paced, fully remote teams

Responsibilities

  • Participate in virtual design and coordination meetings, supporting projects from concept through completion.
  • Create and update highly accurate CAD/Revit drawings and design deliverables (2D and 3D) including: Mechanical schematics, Line and single-line diagrams, Rack elevations, Room layouts and routing plans
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and implementation teams to confirm project details and document: Building and room layouts, Cable conveyance paths (conduit, tray, raised floor), Power requirements and infrastructure, Plenum and non-plenum spaces, Signal and transport formats (e.g., 3G, 12G, IP-based systems)
  • Apply ASG’s drafting standards, cable color codes, labeling, and documentation best practices.
  • Assist with creating and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Conduct quality reviews of designs to catch and correct discrepancies before installation.
  • Produce installation-ready wire lists, cable pull sheets, and final design packages for multiple teams.
  • Maintain red-line changes and incorporate field updates to ensure design accuracy.
  • Support engineering and integration teams, providing solutions to design-related questions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all design documentation upholds ASG standards and industry best practices.
