About The Position

BERGEN PIPE SUPPORTS is seeking a highly organized and driven CAD Project Manager to oversee drafting projects from initial design through fabrication. This role combines technical drafting expertise with project leadership responsibilities, ensuring customer requirements, engineering specifications, schedules, and fabrication deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of 2D drafting and 3D visualization.
  • Experience coordinating projects and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including Algebra and Geometry.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Project Lead, Project Coordinator, or Project Manager experience in manufacturing, industrial construction, steel fabrication, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of structural steel design and AISC standards.
  • Experience with pipe supports, piping systems, fabrication drawings, or industrial products.
  • Experience leading teams and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple drafting and fabrication projects simultaneously from kickoff through completion.
  • Coordinate project activities between customers, engineering, production, and fabrication teams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, priorities, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create and review CAD shop drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) for fabrication orders.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, and required actions to stakeholders.
  • Interpret piping specifications, structural drawings, and customer requirements to design pipe support solutions.
  • Ensure drawings and designs comply with applicable industry standards, including AISC requirements.
  • Identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and scheduling issues before they impact production.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to drafting personnel and technicians.
  • Continuously improve drafting processes, workflows, and project execution methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
