About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join their Water Wastewater and Utilities team in Sarasota. This role involves working closely with project engineers and designers to create civil construction documents for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects using Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit. The position requires the development and quality checking of technical drawings and plans, with the potential for some multifaceted calculations and the suggestion of design changes based on engineering principles. The CAD Operator will maintain the drawing database, may supervise and train CAD staff, and coordinate work activities to ensure schedules and quality control are met. Developing familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards is also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D, and Revit to create civil construction documents for wastewater lift stations, pump stations, pipelines and utility work.
  • Develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
  • Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity.
  • Perform some multifaceted calculations.
  • Maintain drawing database.
  • Supervise and train CAD staff.
  • Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
