About The Position

Intel's Foundry Technology Manufacturing (FTM) is seeking a talented and motivated CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and debug software tools, flows, and methodologies used in design automation and by cross-functional teams in the design of hardware products, process design, and manufacturing. You will play a critical role in enabling engineering productivity by building robust, scalable, and efficient automation solutions that support the full hardware design lifecycle. We are looking for a talented CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and debug software tools, workflows, and methodologies that power our design automation processes. Your work will directly support hardware product design, process design, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM related field (degree must be completed by start date)
• 6+ months of experience with: Programming and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or C++
• 6+ months of experience working in Linux environments
• 6+ months of experience with version control systems and EDA tools

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM related field
• Hands-on experience implementing solutions using Large Language Models.
• 12+ months of experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys ICV, or Siemens Calibre for physical design, place and route scripting, and DRC verification
• 12+ months of experience building job management tools on distributed computing systems
• 12+ months of experience with process automation using workflows, templates, and standardized methodologies
• 12+ months of experience with CAD software administration and deployment

Responsibilities

• Gather and document user stories and technical requirements.
• Write clean, efficient functional and test code.
• Automate build and deployment pipelines.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of software tools.
• Develop and maintain scalable workflows and design automation solutions.
