About The Position

The CAD Draftsman / BIM Modeler is responsible for creating precise 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software. Also is responsible for creating and managing digital 3D models of buildings and infrastructure, incorporating both physical and functional aspects.

Requirements

  • Proficient in AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Navisworks (Navis 3D).
  • 3+ years experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, submittals, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time to adhere to deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s License
  • Excellent understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC Ducting & piping and plumbing systems & system operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Use of strong interpersonal/customer relationship skills combined with the high-level technical knowledge and capability of yourself and your team to build strong, long-term productive relationships with your customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors in Engineering preferred, or 8-10 years’ industry specific experience in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D drawings, layouts, and technical plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP).
  • Develop and maintain 3D BIM models (e.g., Revit) for MEP systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components.
  • Produce coordinated shop drawings, including ductwork, piping, plumbing layouts, spool drawings, and material takeoffs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate and coordinated project deliverables.
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks and recommend resolutions in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Update and revise drawings and models to reflect design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Generate construction documentation, including plans, sections, and elevations, from BIM models.
  • Maintain and manage model data, including material specifications, quantities, and performance information.
  • Participate in—and occasionally lead—coordination meetings with clients, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including general contractors, field personnel, and design teams.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to verify field conditions and gather measurements.
  • Review equipment submittals for accuracy and support manufacturing release processes.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, and company quality expectations.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
