About The Position

We are seeking a motivated CAD drafter in the Bridgeport, CT area. This position requires knowledge of steel fabrication processes, including CNC/plasma machinery, welding, fastening, and tolerances. The CAD Drafter will ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and production-ready, while supporting efficient, safe, and high-quality fabrication.

Requirements

Fabrication/manufacturing Experience.
General knowledge of 2D/CAD/Draft Sight.
Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
Communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Develops detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
Coordinates with and consults colleagues to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
Computes mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
Manipulates field measurements per customer and sales orders.
Allocates materials to provide the highest yield, utilizing remnants when available.
Meets with the customer to create preliminary designs and presents them to the customer for approval or revision.
Develops an understanding of multiple CAD systems to program various sets of machinery.
Create products by cutting, forming, and joining metal materials in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Operate, program, or support fabrication equipment, including CNC machines, plasma cutters, and other machinery.
Attends weekly production meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
