About The Position

Delaware Elevator is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to transform project specifications and design requirements into accurate, high-quality 2D drawings that support engineering and project teams. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and contribute to projects from concept through completion.

The drafter prepares and refines technical drawings, checks them for quality and compliance, incorporates feedback, maintains project documentation, and supports custom projects and project schedules. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands-on AutoCAD experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering; professional work experience is not required for candidates with the degree.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and plans.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Dependability, punctuality, and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Additional drafting training or certifications.
• SolidWorks experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and plans based on project specifications and design requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and other team members to develop and refine technical drawings.
• Review drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
• Incorporate feedback from project managers and clients to ensure drawings meet project needs.
• Maintain accurate drawing logs, templates, and project documentation.
• Support project scheduling and complete drafting assignments on time.
• Create specialized and custom drawings as needed.
