CAD Designer
About The Position
Shannon Global Energy Solutions, a designer and manufacturer of reusable thermal, acoustic, and safety insulation solutions, is seeking a CAD Designer. The role is responsible for executing assigned design projects accurately and on time to meet customer expectations, while communicating project activity to help maintain deadlines. The CAD Designer works alongside an assigned Project Manager, the Design Center Manager, and the Sales Department. Work includes interpreting field drawings, creating dimensional drawings, and using the company’s MRP system to ensure project deliverables are accurate. The designer is expected to understand each project’s terms and conditions, commitments, customer expectations, and design schedules. The role also manages customer follow-ups, project checklists, and rework, provides support if a product non-compliance is identified after shipment, and meets required completion dates. Site work and travel throughout the U.S. and Canada, up to 25% of the time, are part of the position requirements.
Requirements
- A preferred two-year college degree in engineering technology design, such as Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Technology or an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.).
- 1 to 3 years of experience using AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Computer software skills in Microsoft Office.
- Hand mechanical drawing skills for interpreting field take-off information.
- Physical fitness for site work.
- Willingness to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada up to 25% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Experience with 3D CAD software.
