We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer / SolidWorks Designer to support the development of accurate equipment layouts and install-ready assembly drawings. This role focuses on converting approved room concepts into fully developed 3D SolidWorks models and assemblies using existing product systems and hardware. The ideal candidate has strong SolidWorks skills, spatial awareness, and attention to detail, and enjoys working through real-world design and fitment challenges.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and assemblies)
  • Working knowledge of Google SketchUp
  • Experience with large assemblies and organized CAD file structures
  • Strong attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills
  • Ability to manage workflow independently and maintain organized systems
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, or equipment design preferred
  • Flexible experience level for candidates with strong SolidWorks/SketchUp proficiency and ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed SolidWorks assemblies and 3D models from approved layouts and concepts
  • Develop accurate equipment layouts using existing parts, hardware, and product systems
  • Verify that designs function properly in real-world installation applications
  • Ensure all required components, accessories, and hardware are included and correctly specified
  • Cross-reference designs with sales orders and quotes for accuracy and completeness
  • Produce install-ready drawings and assembly layouts for field installation teams
  • Define accurate hardware placement, bolt patterns, and attachment points
  • Source and manage CAD models and component libraries as needed
  • Maintain an organized digital library of parts, assemblies, and standard components
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and installation teams to resolve design or fitment issues
