  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma and 3-5 years of related drafting/design experience (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of industry drafting standards and mechanical drawing practices
  • Demonstrated CAD experience, including developing drawings and supporting design reviews
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or 3D modeling tools
  • Mechanical drafting experience (primary focus), with exposure to electrical or fire suppression systems
  • Experience supporting preconstruction design reviews and material takeoffs
  • CAD certification is highly beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Produce and detail drawings and layouts of moderate complexity for facilities and mechanical systems
  • Generate and modify CAD drawings and design models based on engineering input and design intent
  • Apply industry codes, standards, and customer specifications to drawings, layouts, and work plans
  • Develop shop drawings with accurate dimensions to support craft installation
  • Perform material takeoffs from native files and support procurement with accurate material ordering
  • Perform basic calculations in support of technical design problems
  • Apply engineering design principles to the design and fabrication of components and assemblies
  • Participate in two-phase design review cycles (initial and final) and conduct pre-construction design reviews to ensure readiness for execution
  • Conduct walkdowns at TA-55, PF-4, and various warehouses (government vehicle provided)
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and deliver work within budget and schedule constraints

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation ($34-$40/hr)
  • Work on meaningful, high-impact projects at one of the world's leading research institutions
  • Grow your technical skills in a structured environment alongside experienced engineers and designers
