About The Position

To provide professional CAD Design for 8-koi, a diverse Florida-based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients. This role requires an applicant to apply their knowledge of engineering and various office technologies in many assignments, working on multiple tasks simultaneously in an effective and structured manner. The ideal candidate will develop broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area, evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects with few complex features, and use judgment for non-routine aspects of assignments. This position also involves managing and scheduling all designer and CAD activities and maintaining 8-koi / CDE Company Standards and Practices. Team players who understand their contributions affect project outcomes and profitability are highly valued.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • 10+ years of general CAD experience.
  • HS Diploma or Technical Trade certification or AS/AA Degree.
  • Participate in ongoing education.
  • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Pass an entry drug screen and remain drug free throughout employment.
  • Familiar with the MS Office suite and ability to create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using these tools.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and flexibility.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as regulations and contract requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and spoken.
  • Skilled use of Adobe Acrobat.
  • Moderate typing speed.
  • Internet usage.
  • Task planning / Calendar management.
  • Active member of professional practice organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and more complex drawings.
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with Engineers to ensure consistent documentation of the project.
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation if service is requested by the application engineer or project manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of third-party items and services database.
  • Review and modify information with supervision by the Director of Engineering.
  • Make data available to application engineers and project managers.
  • Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.
  • Generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.
  • Perform any additional related tasks issued by superiors.
  • Help in the development of internal CAD standards.
  • Provide initial review of drawings for formatting and standards compliance.
