About The Position

Lennox, driven by 130 years of HVAC and refrigeration success, provides industry-leading climate-control solutions. AES, a division of Lennox established in 1988, is a leading manufacturer of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems, and has expanded to include a Mechanical Services Division and a Misc. Steel manufacturer. AES aims to reduce construction costs and coordination issues for its General Contractor network nationwide through its four fabrication facilities. As a CAD Designer (I), you will be responsible for designing and producing drawings for metal fabrication components within the HVAC industry. Your role will involve ensuring product specifications are met, conducting customer verification approvals, and managing the product database. You will create drawings based on product literature, architectural plans, and verbal instructions, and contribute to optimizing company operations for cost efficiency while maintaining quality, safety, and timely deliveries.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in drafting design or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 to 3 years of drafting experience preferred.
  • Requires at least 1-3 years related experience.
  • Experience with analytical and CAD software including SolidWorks preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • HVAC industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting and design, particularly with sheet metal products.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and architectural drawings.
  • Strong computer skills, including SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and email.
  • MRP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product documentation and bills of material.
  • Collaborate directly with sales staff and customers to develop drawings from sketches, blueprints, existing drawings, and photos, along with written and verbal instructions.
  • Work closely with all departments within the plant to guarantee that drawings are accurate, convey the correct information, and are free from errors.
  • Update drawings as needed to facilitate continuous production and prevent delays.
  • Utilize drafting resources to create new tools that enhance efficiency, including hardware and software design.
  • Produce drawings based on customer, company, and vendor specifications, adhering to corporate drawing standards.
  • Undertake additional related duties as assigned.
