About The Position
Working within the Engineering department, reporting to the Design Engineering Manager or Lead Design Engineer, and working with guidance from the Design Engineering team, the CAD Designer I is responsible for product documentation in accordance with design plans.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field
- 0-3 years experience
- SOLIDWORKS proficient, creating models, assemblies and drawings
- Drafting Standards & GD&T
- Manufacturing Methods Awareness
- Engineering Drawing Interpretation
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Structure
- Document Control and Revision Practices
- Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the NCI facility locations and client offices as required.
- A valid driver’s license is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Modify and create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings
- Apply GD&T, dimensions, and drafting standards
- Incorporate redlines and engineering markups
- Support engineering by translating concepts into detailed designs
- Creates and modifies Bills-of-Materials in CAD and MRP/ERP
- Manage drawing revisions and configuration control
- Ensure drawing accuracy and completeness prior to release
