About The Position

Provide CAD support for the design and development of new products and product improvements. This role involves the innovative design of components and mechanical assemblies to meet technical requirements and program objectives for cost, timing, and quality. The CAD Designer will generate 3D models and 2D prints, manage their storage in the thyssenkrupp database, and support the creation of documentation for data set releases. Responsibilities also include Product Life Management (PLM) database management and Bill Of Materials maintenance. Additionally, the role supports the testing lab expansion by designing new equipment, tools, and fixtures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and an effective communicator and problem solver, capable of managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines in dynamic environments.

Requirements

• A BS Degree in Computer Graphics Technology or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suites within a Windows operating system.
• Proficiency in Catia V5.
• Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, such as Oracle PLM or Teamcenter SLM.
• Highly organized and adaptable professional with the ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and meet deadlines in dynamic environments.
• Effective communicator and proactive problem solver skilled at engaging with all levels of an organization and driving solutions independently.

Nice To Haves

• At least three years of experience in CAD design, particularly within the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with industry IATF standards.
• Prior experience with automotive steering systems.
• Prior experience with tool/fixture design.
• Familiarity with SAP.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with NX.
• OEM data transfer in Siemens Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD support for the design and development of new products and product improvements.
• Innovative design of components / mechanical assemblies to meet the product's technical requirement and the program cost, timing & quality objectives.
• Generate 3D models & 2D prints for components/assemblies with the applicable CAD software, as well as ensure their storage in the thyssenkrupp database.
• Is co-responsible for the compliance to the Customer Engineering Specification (DVP&R planning, realization & analysis).
• Support the creation of supporting documentation required for data set releases.
• Product Life Management (PLM) database management, structure, and article status responsibilities according to the Product Life Cycle (PLC) guidelines and the project leader's input.
• Maintain the Bill Of Materials.
• Support our testing lab expansion with the concept/design of new equipment, tools & fixtures.
