About The Position

This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

Requirements

0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
High School diploma/GED required.
Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.

Responsibilities

Developing and planning production schedules to ensure integration of production capabilities, processes, programs, customer services/commitments and overall efficiencies.
Providing information and support to purchasing, sales, supervision and management.
Preparing, coordinating and communicating production schedules with sales and operations.
Conferring with operations to determine status of the production schedule and expediting operations to minimize the impact of scheduled delays.
Forecasting and monitoring inventory and stocking requirements to support production.
Confirming and/or coordinating inventory transfers.
Adjusting schedules to accommodate equipment failures, customer demands and other variables.
Identifying and recommending improvements for increasing productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction and collaborating with cross-functional departments to improve product quality and productivity.
Working with maintenance to plan efficient shutdowns.
Monitoring progress of production against the master schedule and coordinating breaks in the schedule.
Managing aged, obsolete, and damaged inventory by working with the operations team.
Working with vendors to process material claims.
Adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
Performing all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
