HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Certified Cabling Technician to support the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for DoD and federal customers. The ideal candidate holds a BICSI Technician (TECH) or BICSI Installer (INST1/INST2) certification, or an equivalent industry credential. This role focuses on delivering high quality copper and fiber infrastructure installations in accordance with BICSI, TIA, NEC, and DoD telecommunications standards.
Requirements
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI
- 1–3 years of experience in structured cabling installation
- Ability to read basic drawings and use standard cabling tools
- Understanding of safety practices and industry standards
Nice To Haves
- BICSI Installer 1 certification
- Experience working in Navy or DoD enterprise IT facilities
- Experience with cable testers and verification tools
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate copper and fiber cabling in compliance with NGEN and Department of the Navy standards
- Route, dress, and secure cabling throughout Navy shore facilities
- Interpret cabling diagrams and follow instructions from senior technicians and project leads
- Perform basic cable verification testing and assist with certification testing
- Install racks, patch panels, cable management systems, grounding, and related hardware
- Update NGEN ticketing systems and accurately document completed work
- Follow Navy access control procedures, physical security guidelines, and PPE requirements
- Support site surveys and contribute to as built documentation
- Maintain strict adherence to BICSI, TIA, NEC, DISA, and applicable telecommunications standards
