Cable Technician
About The Position
This is a contract position based out of Jeffersonville, IN. The role involves cable installation and termination, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. The work schedule has variable hours, with 40 hours one week and 50+ hours the next, indicating a dynamic workload. The company is looking for individuals with good soft skills and a clear understanding of job safety requirements. The position requires the ability to read floor plans, understand wiring schemes, and perform field terminations and labeling. The technician will report to the Operations Manager and take direction from various lead technicians. Responsibilities include running service jobs, laying out MDF and IDF closets, dressing cables, and performing terminations, with the capability of working in Data Centers.
Requirements
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools
- Must understand customer service
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements
- Be able to read and understand floor plans
- Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing
- Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cable
- Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling
- Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork
- Capable of running service jobs
- Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets
- Be able to dress all types of cable
- Perform all type of terminations

Responsibilities
