About The Position

This is a contract-to-hire position for a Cable Technician. The role involves installing and managing network infrastructure, including data centers and inside/outside building environments. The technician will be responsible for pulling wire, operating tools, and ensuring proper installation of various cabling and network hardware.

Requirements

Network equipment experience
Cat6 termination experience
Fiber knowledge
Proficient with listed tools
Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
Knowledge of universal communications color codes

Nice To Haves

Cat5 experience
Rack and stack experience
Punchdown experience
Cable installation experience
Structured cabling experience

Responsibilities

Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices.
Build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware.
Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
Complete all IDC connections, such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels.
Work inside and outside buildings, including data centers.
Pull wire and/or oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling.
Operate tools and equipment normally requiring the use of two hands (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers).
