About The Position

This role involves performing low voltage and fiber optic cable installations and maintenance, primarily within data center environments. The technician will be responsible for the physical installation of cabling infrastructure, including wire management systems, termination of cables, and the setup of network closets. The position requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors, operating various hand and power tools to complete tasks such as pulling wire, installing conduit, and terminating connections.

Requirements

  • Low voltage experience
  • Fiber knowledge
  • Cat6 termination
  • Cable, Cabling, Cat6, Rack and stack, Punchdown, Cat5, Cable installation, Structured cabling

Responsibilities

  • Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices.
  • Build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware.
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
  • Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
  • Work inside and outside building out the data centers.
  • Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling.
  • Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.).
