About The Position

This is an entry-level structured cabling role supporting data center and commercial construction projects in Montgomery, Alabama. The position involves installing Cat6 and fiber cabling, pulling cable, mounting racks and network hardware, and assisting with telecommunications room buildouts. It is a hands-on position with long-term growth opportunities in the low-voltage and communications industry.

The role is fully onsite and based in construction and data center environments. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work involves standing for extended periods, lifting materials, using hand and power tools, and following site safety requirements and PPE guidelines.

This is a contract position. The pay range is $22.00–$26.00 per hour. Benefits may be available subject to eligibility and may depend on job classification and length of employment.

Requirements

• Commercial cabling experience.
• Experience pulling and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cable.
• Basic fiber optic knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints and work in construction environments.
• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with rack-and-stack, cable tray, and telecommunications installations.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, terminate, and test Cat6 cabling.
• Assist with fiber optic cable installation and handling.
• Install cable tray, conduit, racks, patch panels, and network equipment.
• Build and organize telecommunications rooms and data center spaces.
• Read blueprints and follow project specifications.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain quality standards, cable labeling, and documentation.
• Follow site safety requirements and PPE guidelines.
