About The Position
This is a contract position based out of Montgomery, AL. The role involves installing and managing network infrastructure, including wireway, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices. The technician will be responsible for building out data center closets, mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. Additionally, they will install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable, and complete IDC connections such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels. The job requires working both inside and outside data center environments. The shift is Monday through Friday, 6 am to 5 pm. The role also involves pulling wire and potentially overseeing conduit installations and wire pulling operations. The technician will operate tools and equipment that typically require two hands, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.
Requirements
- Network equipment experience
- Cat6 termination
- Fiber knowledge
- Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools
- Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements

Responsibilities
- Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices.
- Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
- Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
- Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- Work inside and outside building out the data centers.
- Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling.
- Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)
