About The Position

Installation of infrastructure for voice and data services, security, network services, and equipment. You will work with voice, video and data cabling systems and networks. This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, receptive cooperation, and regular and consistent physical activity. Implement network installation projects by learning project documents, plans, specifications and planning material orders for supplies, material and tools, survey project sites, documenting as-built drawings and project documents throughout the installation and upon completion.

Requirements

  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Hold an OSHA 30 Certification
  • Valid Driver’s license required, safe driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and backgr0und check.
  • Have a desire to be a team player and succeed.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Basic computer and smart phone skills needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Establish voice and data networks by installing, terminating, testing, and splicing cables.
  • Installing telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches, establishing connections, and programming features following industry standards.
  • Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.
  • Identify/Pull/Terminate/Test Cat5, 5e, 6, 6A coax and fiber optic communication cable.
  • Identify color codes for 568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair and 50 pair.
  • Label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
  • Fiber terminations.
  • Terminate with multi-pair stand cable (copper and fiber).
  • Dress and route cable through conduit, above ceilings, between floors, into telecom closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets per job specifications.
  • Build-out telecom and equipment rooms.
  • Install Firestops and various types of cable penetrations.
  • Installation of support structures and cable pathway systems. (J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, cable tray / ladder rack, conduit, and raceway).
