About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Cable Assembly Technician to support programs for commercial and Department of Defense customers. The technician builds cable assemblies according to engineering drawings and work instructions and performs basic testing, troubleshooting, and repair. The role involves working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop assembly strategies and identify potential problems. This is a second-shift position at Leidos’ Electronics Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
1–3 years of cable-building and/or electrical or mechanical assembly experience.
Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used in cable assembly.
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess and be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance, or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Current or prior IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with Space addendum.
Current or prior J-STD-001 certification.
Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.

Responsibilities

Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
Use tools for cable manufacturing, including strippers, crimpers, and soldering irons.
Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
Work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop assembly strategies and identify potential assembly problems.
Perform basic troubleshooting to find signal and connectivity faults.
