Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician – Level 3 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical and electrical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, harness assemblies and components. The selected candidate will utilize detailed engineering drawings for fabrication and test fixture setup.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
Must have experience working with Engineering drawings and written work instructions.
Knowledge of DC harness wiring using various connectors including D-Sub, Micro-D and Circular connectors
Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.

Nice To Haves

Ability to interpret wire lists, perform continuity check-out to ensure correct wiring, splicing wires, wire prepping using thermal tweezers, spot tying, and performing other various tasks related to wire routing and wire dressing.
Experience using basic tools (Torque wrenches, Wire Crimpers, etc.)
Knowledge and/or experience working in aerospace
Ability to take direction and follow company procedures and processes

Responsibilities

Set-up, Assemble and Tests complete flight cable assembly and sub-assemblies under operational conditions.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks
Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
