About The Position

Closet Factory Orlando is seeking a detail-oriented Cabinet Production CAD Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This position transforms designer concepts into accurate, production-ready drawings and manufacturing documentation for custom closets, home offices, garages, pantries, entertainment centers, wall beds, and other custom cabinetry. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the ability to think through how a project will actually be manufactured and installed—not just how it looks on paper.

Requirements

  • Analytical, mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving technical and manufacturing problems.
  • Takes pride in producing accurate work, understands that small errors can become costly production mistakes, and works well with both office and shop personnel.
  • Experience with cabinetry, millwork, furniture manufacturing, or finish carpentry.
  • Experience using CAD or drafting software (KCD, AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, SketchUp, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Knowledge and experience with the 32mm cabinetmaking system (system 32).
  • Ability to read architectural drawings, elevations, shop drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of Imperial and Metric measurement systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Windows and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential manufacturing or installation issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a production team.
  • Motivated to continuously improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with KCD, Cutrite, or woodWOP is a plus but not required.
  • Willing to train the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and cabinetry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Convert designer drawings into accurate production-ready manufacturing drawings.
  • Analyze projects to ensure they can be manufactured and installed efficiently while maintaining design intent.
  • Create and modify cabinet drawings using KCD and related production software.
  • Prepare CNC-ready manufacturing files and production documentation.
  • Verify dimensions, construction details, hardware, and material specifications.
  • Collaborate with designers, production, and installers to resolve technical issues.
  • Help maintain engineering standards, drafting consistency, and production quality.
