About The Position
Kitchen Tune-Up Grand Rapids is seeking a skilled and dependable Cabinet Painter to join their growing team. The role focuses primarily on professional kitchen cabinet painting, including prep, priming, and achieving flawless finishes on face frames, doors, and drawer fronts. Additionally, the position involves trim work and occasional interior house painting. The company is particularly interested in candidates with additional skills in kitchen or bath remodeling, valuing versatile team members. Requirements
- Stellar work ethic and reliability—show up on time and ready to work every day
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow directions precisely
- Proven experience in cabinet painting, fine finish work, or high-end residential painting
- Ability to prep and paint for a factory-like, long-lasting finish
- Comfortable working in occupied homes with professionalism and respect for clients' spaces
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas
- Ability to safely lift/move materials and work on your feet for extended periods
Nice To Haves
- Experience in kitchen or bath remodeling (e.g., basic trim carpentry, minor repairs, installing hardware/roll-outs, drywall patching, or other finish work)
- Familiarity with spray painting systems for cabinets
- Knowledge of color matching, stains, or specialty finishes
- Previous work in cabinet refacing, redooring, or restoration projects
- Additional skills in kitchen or bath remodeling
Responsibilities
- Prep surfaces thoroughly (sanding, cleaning, masking, filling imperfections) to ensure a smooth, durable finish
- Prime, paint, and finish kitchen cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, trim, and related woodwork using high-quality products and techniques
- Handle occasional interior house painting (walls, ceilings, trim) as needed on remodeling jobs
- Follow Kitchen Tune-Up's 5 Trustpoints on every project to deliver consistent, exceptional results
- Arrive on time, work efficiently, and communicate daily progress with the project manager
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe—clean up thoroughly at the end of each day
- Protect client homes (cover floors, counters, appliances, etc.) and interact professionally and friendly with customers
- Safely use painting tools/equipment (sprayers, brushes, rollers, sanders, etc.)
