Under direct supervision, learns and performs the basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. This role involves learning entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. The individual will continue to develop technical competency and problem-solving abilities to progress to the technician level. Utilizing standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools, and materials such as laminates and veneers, the Cabinet Maker I will develop proficiency in furniture preparation and making. The role also requires using the material tracking system for parts demand, tracking squawks, and signing off completed work. Compliance with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, proper use of personal protective equipment, and ensuring aircraft interior protection are essential. The position may also involve assisting in the development and implementation of related initiatives and performing other assigned duties.
