This position is for a Cabinet Maker I in the fabrication and veneer shop. Under direct supervision, the individual will learn and perform basic skills and functions related to the fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. The role involves developing entry-level technical skills, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. The goal is to develop technical competency and problem-solving abilities to progress to the technician level. The job requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, computer skills, use of power tools, and working to tolerances. Experience in carpentry/cabinetry, auto restoration, or manufacturing/production fields is relevant. The role also involves using a material tracking system, complying with safety and housekeeping policies, and protecting aircraft interiors.
