About The Position

The Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Support Technician (CST) performs advanced configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and field support of networked C-UAS systems in production and operational environments, including disparate command and control (C2) platforms, C-UAS radars, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, passive detection systems, effectors, environmental/power monitoring systems, and Layer 2/3 network appliances. The CST integrates all systems to deliver situational awareness to end users via a common C2 human-machine interface. The position requires demonstrated ability to operate independently in austere and remote international environments, with up to 75% TDY travel to domestic and overseas diplomatic facilities.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; may be substituted with 7+ years of relevant integration experience and 2 or more applicable certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience with integration, configuration, and field support of C-UAS or Technical Security Systems.
  • Technical experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing system-of-systems solutions including C-UAS radars, EO/IR cameras, C2 platforms, and effector systems.
  • Experience with C-UAS C2 software platforms including sensor configuration, calibration, and full-site management.
  • Familiarity with C-UAS radar and sensor families such as CACI family of systems, BlueHalo systems, or equivalent platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with RF transmission, detection, and deterrence equipment, and RF spectrum analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CLI tools, secure file transfer utilities, and network diagnostic/analysis software.
  • Experience with UAS operations and capabilities; command, control, and guidance systems desired.
  • Experience with ground-based Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) / CREW systems desired.
  • Solid understanding of RF theory, network fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnetting, managed switch configuration), and C-UAS system architectures.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team in austere or remote environments; strong mechanical aptitude with hand tools and cable fabrication equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver site briefings and interact with government end users and program management.
  • Active FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required)
  • Active U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one (required)
  • Class 1 DOS Medical Clearance (required)
  • An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

  • CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
  • CompTIA Network+ (preferred)
  • Additional vendor certifications in radar systems, RF analysis, or network engineering (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys including electrical/network infrastructure assessments, line-of-sight (LOS) evaluations, and workstation integration planning for new C-UAS deployments.
  • Perform system installations at operational sites—both supervised with reach-back support and unsupervised at established facilities—including replacement of field nodes.
  • Fabricate, terminate, and repair network cables (Cat5e/Cat6), LMR cables, and fiber optic cables as required for installations and equipment repair.
  • Adhere to commissioning standards and procedures; interpret and execute project designs and schematics.
  • Configure system networking including IP addressing, managed switch integration, and NetPlan changes; add and calibrate sensors within the C2 platform.
  • Perform UI masking, calibration, and profile configuration for C-UAS radar and sensor families (e.g., CACI, BlueHalo, and similar systems).
  • White-list selected signals on deployed systems and manage system configuration profiles.
  • Set up and operate RF spectrum analysis tools to observe spectrum, identify known signals, classify signals of interest, and conduct direction-finding and RF surveys at new locations.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of C-UAS systems independently, utilizing CLI tools, network analyzers, and remote diagnostic techniques.
  • Execute network and system administration tasks via command-line interfaces including secure file transfer, remote terminal access, and network discovery tools.
  • Conduct cyclic and preventive maintenance on all deployed C-UAS systems; respond to emergency maintenance requests within 30 minutes, report findings to the Country Manager and C-UAS Program office, and open corresponding work orders in the CMMS.
  • Perform fault isolation to the Least Replaceable Unit (LRU) level; replace and restore failed components to return systems to full operational status.
  • Serve as Site Lead during operational periods, including schedule creation, personnel contingency planning, and delivery of Site Capabilities briefings.
  • Serve as acting Country Manager in the absence of the primary Country Manager, assuming full responsibility for site operations, personnel accountability, and all required reporting.
  • Prepare and submit Weekly Activity Reports (WAR); maintain all project documentation, as-builts, and configuration records.
  • Create and manage work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities within the program’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Conduct monthly inventory of all C-UAS materials and spare parts at assigned sites; track Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for spare materials and equipment.
  • Provide onsite training to end users on all integrated systems and deliver remote troubleshooting assistance.
  • Maintain clear written and verbal communication with program management, end users, and stakeholders.
