About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to lead end‑to‑end security architecture, risk analysis, and ATO strategy for the Army’s Counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) Network Communication System (NCS). You will define the secure design that protects M‑LIDS and FS‑LIDS systems supporting Short‑Range Air Defense (SHORAD) missions. This role owns the security architecture across the lifecycle—encryption, authentication, access control, secure cloud/remote‑access patterns, RMF/ATO artifacts, and threat modeling—while guiding engineering teams and defending the technical approach to government stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity/CS/Engineering + 10+ years cybersecurity/security architecture experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IASAE II/III certification (CISSP, CASP+, etc.).
  • Proven experience architecting security for complex networked/tactical systems.
  • Expertise in encryption, identity/authentication, access control, and secure cloud/remote‑access design.
  • Strong RMF/ATO experience and hands‑on development of security architecture artifacts.
  • Experience with threat modeling, Agile security oversight, and briefing senior government stakeholders.

  • Experience with C‑UAS/SHORAD/LIDS programs.
  • Security architecture for fielded DoD tactical networks.
  • eMASS/RMF control assessment experience.
  • Familiarity with DoD crypto standards and DIL network security.
  • DevSecOps/CI‑CD security architecture experience.
  • Advanced certifications (CISSP‑ISSAP, CISM, GIAC).

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the NCS security architecture, trust boundaries, and system‑wide controls.
  • Architect encryption, identity/MFA, and RBAC for tactical and DIL environments.
  • Design secure cloud integration and zero‑trust remote access for tactical data pipelines.
  • Lead RMF/ATO strategy, author key artifacts, and coordinate with ISSM/ISSO/AO stakeholders.
  • Conduct architecture‑level threat modeling and risk assessments; define design‑level mitigations.
  • Provide security oversight to Agile engineering teams; review sprint deliverables for compliance.
  • Represent security architecture during government assessments and TIMs; maintain architecture documentation.
  • Mentor cybersecurity engineers and enforce secure‑by‑design principles.
