About The Position

This position is responsible for completing daily tasks related to the general operations of the convenience store and gas station, as well as providing customer service. The role involves greeting customers, assisting them with products, maintaining store cleanliness, stocking shelves, and handling transactions. Additionally, there are responsibilities related to food preparation in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Enrolled or graduated from Highschool or GED.
  • No specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers, providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Assist customers in finding product, securing product, loading or unloading products.
  • Maintain clean and orderly stations, both interior and exterior, including restrooms, countertops, and floors.
  • Receive, verify, and store delivered merchandise.
  • Unpack and stock shelves and coolers with merchandise.
  • Clean registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors, and tend to supply needs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the lot; shovel sidewalks of snow, spread ice melt on ice, hose down the parking lot, gas pump area, and sidewalks.
  • Fill outside towel holders, and replenish or refresh window washer fluid.
  • Remove trash inside and out in a timely manner.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Operate lottery ticket registers to verify wins or purchase new.
  • Operate cash register accurately, scan product, and report improper cash levels in the cash drawer.
  • Redeem promotional coupons, food stamps, receive cash, checks, complete credit-card charge transactions, in-store charges, and figure discounts, as well as, count back change and issue receipts.
  • Place merchandise in bags or boxes and give packages to customers.
  • Cook food using ovens, stoves, griddles, and microwaves.
  • Prepare ingredients ensuring freshness by chopping, peeling, cutting, etc.
  • Follow all food health and safety standards.
  • Display food properly and monitor expiration dates and dispose of outdated food.
  • Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures and ensure the work area is always clean and neat.
  • Store food properly when not in use.
