About The Position

The C-Store Associate is responsible for customer service, sales, inventory, and maintenance of the C-Store. The position is also responsible for providing excellent service to members and patrons, working as a team, accurate transactions, and following safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer operation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the cooperative.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Responsible for promoting and selling products and services.
  • Accurately balances the cash drawer, daily sales, and inventory.
  • Ensuring that interior and exterior of fuel facility are neat, clean, and in good condition, and report to the C-Store Manager any issues that may need resolution.
  • Works cooperatively with other locations to help ensure company goals are met.
  • Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations, responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints, and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.
  • Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
  • Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Understands and complies with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to work schedules that vary with prompt and regular attendance.
  • Follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist other office departments as needed.
  • Operating Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as needed.
  • Daily housekeeping of work area.
  • Reporting to the manager on any cost-saving opportunities.
  • Securing facilities and equipment when closing.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
  • Adherence to safety policies.
  • Adherence to cooperative credit policy.
  • Works with other cooperative staff at other locations to ensure cooperative goals are met.
  • Presenting a clean and professional appearance.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.
