About The Position

AMD is seeking a C-Simulation Engineer to help shape the future of GPU technology. In this role, you will develop software models that enable the exploration, validation, and optimization of next-generation graphics architectures before silicon is available. Working at the intersection of software and hardware, you will build and enhance C/C++ simulation models used to evaluate new features, analyze performance, and support key design decisions. You will collaborate closely with architecture, design, verification, firmware, and software engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges and contribute to innovative graphics and computing technologies.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience with object-oriented programming in C/C++.
  • Strong software development, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Linux or UNIX environments.
  • Good understanding of computer organization and computer architecture concepts.
  • Familiarity with software development tools, debuggers, IDEs, and version control systems.
  • Experience working with large-scale software codebases.
  • Exposure to hardware modeling, simulation, verification, or performance analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GPU, graphics, CPU, or related hardware architectures is preferred.
  • Exposure to firmware development or debugging is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain C/C++ simulation models used for architecture evaluation, performance analysis, and hardware verification.
  • Model hardware behavior to support the design and validation of next-generation GPU technologies.
  • Debug complex software issues and investigate discrepancies between simulation models and hardware implementations.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, firmware, emulation, validation, and software engineering teams.
  • Analyze simulation results and provide feedback to improve product quality, functionality, and performance.
  • Support the development and integration of new features within existing simulation environments.
  • Contribute to large-scale software projects using modern development practices and version control systems.
  • Participate in technical discussions and help drive solutions for complex engineering challenges.
