This position requires travel to schools and community events throughout New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties.

Requirements

• Possession of a Delaware Dental Hygienist License or eligibility for a Delaware license.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical oral hygiene services including but not limited to dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, fluoride application, x-rays, and dental impressions.
• Conducts initial mouth screening, checks oral health history and conducts oral cancer screenings.
• Maintains patient documentation, paper charts and electronic dental records.
• Records patient-hygienist transactions so that the dental record accurately reflects the nature of the contact and the care or treatment provided.
• Provides preventative oral health education to patients either in person or virtually.
• Assists the Dentist with appropriate treatments and performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law.
• Sterilizes dental equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
• Maintains the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Log.
