About The Position

The C&P Preparation Coach provides one-on-one coaching and guidance to veterans preparing for their Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams. This role requires experience assisting veterans with C&P exam preparation, an understanding of VA disability criteria, and the ability to communicate with empathy and clarity. The ideal candidate has firsthand experience supporting veterans through the C&P process—such as through coaching, advocacy, VSO assistance, military medical roles, or claims-focused environments.

Requirements

• Experience coaching veterans on preparing for C&P exams.
• Strong understanding of VA disability claims, DBQs, and exam formats.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to simplify complex processes and coach with empathy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for serving veterans and improving their access to accurate disability ratings.

Nice To Haves

• Background in veteran advocacy, military service, social work, healthcare, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized coaching sessions to prepare veterans for upcoming C&P exams.
• Explain what to expect during physical, mental health, and DBQ-based examinations.
• Help veterans accurately communicate their symptoms, including severity, frequency, and functional impact.
• Review the veteran’s reported conditions and identify areas requiring clarification before the exam.
• Provide education while ensuring all communication remains truthful and aligned with VA guidelines.
• Maintain detailed notes and follow-up documentation for each veteran coached.
• Collaborate with Fulfillment, QA, Appeals, and Stage 5 Veteran Success teams to ensure a seamless handoff.
• Stay current on VA updates, disability rating criteria, DBQ changes, and C&P exam procedures.
• Handle all veteran information with confidentiality, professionalism, and compassion.
