About The Position

We are seeking a skilled C, Linux, C++ Developer with 8+ years of experience to join our team. The role involves maintaining, supporting, and enhancing a high throughput, distributed, real-time transaction processing application written in C on the Linux platform within a 24x7x365 production environment. You will also be responsible for designing and maintaining a CI/CD framework, effectively isolating and reproducing application defects, and leveraging production data for system performance testing. This position requires providing tactical and technical support, understanding the impact of technical decisions on adjacent systems, and developing tools and infrastructure to test complex, large-scale distributed systems. Additionally, you will focus on building tooling and infrastructure to improve engineering team velocity, ensuring high-quality code delivery, and proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement. You will serve as a technical and/or functional point of contact for projects and internal business systems, and will coach/mentor others on application, platform, and architectural standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, and enhance a high throughput, distributed, real-time transaction processing application, written in the C programming language, running on the Linux platform, in a 24x7x365 production environment
• Design, develop, and maintain a CI/CD framework for the application
• Isolate application defects effectively, as well as provide specific conditions for reproducibility
• Leverage production data to test how our systems perform
• Provide tactical and technical support on tasks
• Understand impact on adjacent systems as well as short- and long-term impact of technical and/or functional decisions
• Develop effective tools and infrastructure to test complex, large-scale distributed systems
• Design and build tooling and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity
• Ensure high-quality code is delivered that meets specifications and customer requirements
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery of daily work
• Act as technical and/or functional point of contact for a project / subset of internal business systems projects
• Coach/mentor others in application, platform, and/or global architectural standards
