About The Position

The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) is seeking a C++/Cloud Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software systems using C++ deployed on cloud infrastructure. The position applies C++ best practices and modern cloud-native architectures to build scalable, reliable, and efficient software supporting science, research, and engineering applications. It combines C++ software development expertise with cloud engineering capabilities to deliver optimized solutions in cloud environments. The role includes implementing and testing C++ software; designing, deploying, and operating cloud infrastructure; developing cloud-native software architectures; monitoring application and infrastructure reliability, performance, and cost; and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Other related functions may be assigned. This is a 40-hour-per-week position based at the Pickle Research Campus. Standard office conditions apply. Some weekend, evening, and holiday work and possible interstate or intrastate travel are required. The position is expected to continue, and the earliest start date is immediately. Salary is $88,500–$120,000 or more, negotiable depending on qualifications. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD 8140-compliant security certification within six months of employment. The selected applicant must also meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to project requirements.
