About The Position

Turing is hiring a C/C++ Developer to work as a Software Engineering evaluator on initiatives that train, benchmark, and advance large language models. The role involves collaborating with researchers to curate code examples, develop precise solutions, and correct code, primarily in C/C++ and also in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), Java, Rust, and Go. The developer will evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, and work with cross-functional teams on enterprise-level AI-driven coding solutions. The engagement is flexible, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. It is a contractor role lasting one month, with potential extensions based on performance and fit. Candidates must be based in the US, Canada, or the listed Western European countries. The application process takes 15–30 minutes and requires an AI video interview.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise building full-stack applications and deploying scalable, production-grade software using modern languages and tools.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality and review assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide clear, structured evaluation rationales.
  • Must be based in the US, Canada, or the specified Western European countries.
  • Commit to at least 10 hours per week; engagement may be up to 40 hours per week.
  • Complete the required AI video interview.

Responsibilities

  • Curate code examples, build solutions, and correct code for AI model training initiatives, primarily in C/C++ and also in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), Java, Rust, and Go.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions against industry performance benchmarks.
  • Build agents that verify code quality and identify error patterns.
  • Develop hypotheses about software engineering stages—including prototyping, architecture and API design, production implementation, launch, experimentation, monitoring, and operational maintenance—and evaluate model capabilities across them.
  • Design verification mechanisms that can automatically verify solutions to software engineering tasks.
