About The Position

This position is for an experienced Engineering within the AMMM Utility Systems team. This engineer will primarily function as the Utilities & Mechanical Systems engineering lead integrator on the C-5 aircraft platform. Job functions shall include troubleshooting and sustainment support of aircraft utility and mechanical systems, including but not limited to Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Hydraulics, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Bleed Air, and Secondary Power. The Engineer shall serve as the liaison between the Utility Systems Engineering function and C-5 Program, including Project Engineering, Program Management, and the Customer. The selected candidate will drive sustainment solutions aimed at C-5 fleet improvement which may include design improvements, drawing changes, technical publication revision, data review, drafting reports, and investigation of customer inquiries. Other duties include basis of estimate (BOE) development and Control Account Manager (CAM) activity for the AMMM Utilities team. The candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with other internal organizations, program management, and the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience with one or more aircraft utility and mechanical systems (Flight Controls, ECS, Landing Gear, Bleed Air, Hydraulics, etc.)
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance with an investigation within 5 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with C-5 platform desired (C-5M Architecture, Development & Test experience as System Cognizant engineer, preferred).
  • Experience with aircraft sustainment and depot maintenance support.
  • Experience providing Engineering customer interface, meeting support, technical discussions with USG SPO personnel.
  • Experience as an IPT-Lead or technical team lead.
  • Experience with aircraft system root-cause corrective action (RCCA) activity.
  • Experience with vendor management and providing technical oversight of supplier components.
  • Control Account Manager (CAM)/Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
