About The Position

A nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency, with over 60 programs across New York City and the greater New York Area. Samaritan Daytop Village serves over 33,000 New Yorkers annually within your neighborhoods and communities so our success depends on those we employ. Under general direction, the Trainer will be responsible for conducting applicable training programs for Agency departments. These training programs will include mandated trainings from regulatory bodies as well as mandatory and non-mandatory agency-specific trainings. This person will actively search, creatively design, implement, and conduct training that educates and enhances the performance of Agency-wide staff. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Experience with E-Training Tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of various teaching methodologies and instructional design.
  • Ability to be resourceful and creative when developing training materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate training objectives and strategies and execute comprehensive training plans.
  • Conduct mandatory and non-mandatory training sessions across all Agency locations.
  • Develop and implement innovative instructional methods to increase engagement and retention.
  • Works with Agency programs to devise customized training solutions that meet specific departmental needs.
  • Provide recommendations to the Director for improving existing training curricula.
  • Create or source effective training materials using various media, ensuring all content remains current and applicable.
  • Demonstrate and promote the desired culture and philosophies of the Agency.
  • Conduct post-training follow-ups to evaluate effectiveness and measure performance results.
  • Perform annual training and development needs assessments to identify skill gaps.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends by attending seminars and reviewing professional literature.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
