About The Position

The Buyer/Planner manages the procurement and planning of materials to ensure inventory supports production needs. This role is part of a revolutionary change at Philip Morris International (PMI) as the company transforms its business to deliver a smoke-free future. The position is located in Owensboro, KY.

Requirements

College degree in business, procurement, or a related field
General business experience
Proficiency with purchasing software, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Excellent time management, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with stakeholders across multiple functions.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with finished goods, product specifications, and production methods is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor developments related to materials and supplies and recommend opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes
Provide Quality and Procurement with feedback on supplier performance
Forecast raw material requirements six months to one year in advance
Place blanket orders to maintain supply, secure pricing based on purchase agreements and volumes, and support target inventory levels and performance measures
Prepare purchasing analyses and cost data for scheduling, planning, budgeting, and other business needs
Build strong relationships with key vendors based on respect, trust, and open communication
Manage standard artwork updates for existing packaging
Coordinate packaging graphic changes across teams to ensure timely completion and reduce obsolete materials
Conduct monthly audits of department purchase orders to confirm compliance with policies and procedures
Stay current on OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements related to ingredients, materials, and supplies.
