Administer the procurement of all MRO items, critical spare parts, crib items, and operational supplies. Maintain inventory control. Reviews all requisitions. Requests and evaluates price quotations for materials and services. Confers with vendor to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects product for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Monitor inventory levels to prevent supply shortages. Selects vendors based on quality, price, and delivery standards. When applicable, work with suppliers to establish stocking inventory (consignment) for Bison use, thereby reducing inventory cost by keeping a minimal inventory. Negotiates contracts with outside contractors for annual services and supplies. Monitors vendor compliance to established criteria. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine root cause of problems and take corrective action. Assists all departments in the determination of specifications for products, material, equipment, and services to be purchased. Responsible for the processing of all requisitions and entering all purchase orders, including blanket orders and crib inventory stock items. Process purchase orders by fax, email, or EDI. Generate monthly reports for cost savings, open orders, and vendor data. Maintain purchase order and vendor files.
