About The Position

Pioneer Circuits is seeking a mid-level Buyer responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services to support assembly and manufacturing operations. This role is crucial for ensuring a consistent supply of materials, optimizing costs, maintaining inventory levels, and meeting supplier quality and delivery targets. The Buyer will manage the entire purchasing process, from sourcing and RFQ development to supplier selection, negotiation, purchase order placement, and performance management. This position requires close collaboration with various internal teams, including Account Management, Engineering, Assembly Kitting, Production, and Quality, to meet customer and production demands. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of manufacturing and MRP processes. Experience in aerospace, electronics, PCB, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Requirements

Must be able read, write and communicate effectively in English
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic knowledge of technical blueprints, certifications and standards
Proficient in reading drawings
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Windows and Microsoft (Excel and Word)
Experience working with an MRP System
5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials-management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, purchase order management, and supplier performance management.
Experience managing MRP-driven purchasing and material requirements.
Demonstrated inventory control experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in aerospace industry is a plus
Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System requirements (Preferred)
Proficient understanding of manufacturing, PCB or engineering processes (Preferred)
Experience working with SAGE or ProCim (a plus)

Responsibilities

Generates RFQ’s and places purchase orders, negotiates lowest cost and most favorable terms to support material demand requirements
Responsible for the acquisition of goods and services at the right time and acceptable quality
Must follow up on open purchase orders to ensure product is delivered timely
Responsible for supplier On Time Delivery (OTD)
Maintains relationships with suppliers, and recommends changes in purchasing procedures to improve service, and quality
Contributes to continuous improvement activities for the assembly MRP process
Resolves supplier invoicing issues and implements corrective actions to minimize future errors
Participates in daily and weekly production meetings to provide material parts status
Acts as a cross-functional team member in partnership with account management, assembly kitting and assembly production associates to ensure orders are released to the floor in an efficient and timely manner
Monitors MRP to ensure material supply is aligned to system demand and strategically uses system planning and parameters to ensure optimal inventory levels
Conducts periodic supplier business reviews to improve supplier performance
Performs other duties as assigned
