About The Position
A buyer is responsible for providing administrative and purchasing support to the department and product managers with the daily operations of procuring material and managing inventory.
Requirements
- Experience in supply chain, procurement, and purchasing.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.
- Ability to work with pivot tables.
- Experience in vendor management.
- Experience processing purchase orders.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with steel or other metal alloys is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Obtain quotes from mills, suppliers, and service subcontractors.
- Assist with negotiating pricing of materials and services, excluding new vendor setup negotiations.
- Review and adjust the status of incoming purchases.
- Assist internal and external customers with questions.
- Prepare and process quotes and purchase orders.
- Resolve discrepancies in goods and services.
- Receive material and process inventory requests.
- Update pricing pages.
