About The Position
Alstom is seeking a Buyer to support procurement for rail transportation systems and sustainable mobility solutions. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, procurement excellence, and operational precision within a global organization. The Buyer collaborates with engineering and production teams to align sourcing with project requirements, manages supplier risks and performance, and identifies new suppliers and technologies. The position also supports knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the procurement community. Success is measured by on-time delivery aligned with project schedules, effective collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers, lower procurement costs, and improved supplier performance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for procurement management.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
- Ability to analyze cost structures and implement value engineering initiatives.
- Experience with contract negotiation and compliance in industrial supply chains.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on cross-functional teamwork and communication.
